About Digimon Infinity

Digimon Infinity is an FDD (Fan Digimon and Digidestined) project created by yukimayari (me!). It's a Digimon fanfiction project that doesn't involve the original Digimon characters or world, but instead involves my own characters and a re-imagined setting!

I started Digimon Infinity in November 2002, as a challenge to myself. I was inspired by all of the SI/OC (Self-Insert/Original Character) Digimon fanfics on FanFiction.net, and I wanted to prove I could write a better story. I originally posted the story on FanFiction.net under the name "Digimon Adventure Neo" from November 2002 to August 2008. Unfortunately, due to stress at the time from finishing college and trying to find a job, I put the story on indefinite hiatus and deleted it, unfinished, after 28 chapters. Even though I deleted it, the story remained cooking in my head for years, until 2023, when I felt ready to tackle it again and finish it. That's right, I've spent more than 20 years fixating on this story!

And what a story it turned out to be. A story about conquering your demons and rising above your circumstances. About realizing you're not alone and can reach out for help. And knowing how important it is to love yourself. At the risk of sounding incredibly sappy, I think the time I spent on this story is a mirror of my mental health journey. I started this story as an anxiety-filled teenager with fragile self-esteem, paused it as a stressed-out college student at my lowest point in my mental health, and finished it after time and therapy as a happier adult.

That's a lot to experience from a story based on a children's show.

About the Author

The author (also known as yukimayari, Mayari, Maharlika, Gracious Lullaby, and Christian) is a very bored person with way too many hobbies and not enough time to enjoy them all!

As is obvious from this website, I am a big fan of Digimon. My favorites are Adventure/02, Tamers, Cyber Sleuth/Hacker's Memory, Survive, and the card game. My favorite Digimon are Bearmon, Tailmon, Renamon, Terriermon and Lopmon. I also love seeking out other Digimon fan projects and watching them make progress. It's amazing what fans can do with Digimon, artistic skill and the spark of a story!

Aside from Digimon, I'm also a fan of other anime, manga and video games. I enjoy writing (obviously) and I'm an active fanfiction writer in several other fandoms. I also like tinkering with old media technology and modding old video game systems (anything that can be taken apart and put back together again is fair game!). I'm also quite active on Reddit.
